Sketching by the West Lot - Not as Easy as it Sounds

This week's sketching meet-up began well before our Monday 1:00 convening at - what proved to be the enigmatic West Lot.  Texts flew, phone calls ensued, all with the single question: 

"Where the heck is "the West Lot"?  

Followed by the compass-based answer that proved to be of absolutely no use: 

"Oh you know, it's West of the buildings that are West of The Cabana."

"You mean by the umbrellas?"

"What umbrellas?  No, I don't see any umbrellas. You know, it's the lot by the marina South of Cap Sante."

"Where they launch the boats?" 

"No, no. Way West of there - down just East of the W.T. Preston by the Mermen placard."

"Excuse me?"

"Close to the life-sized driftwood giraffes."

"Ok, now I know where you're talking about?"

"Seriously?" 

"See you at 1:00." 

Suffice to say, we found each other and, while it was a bit breezy, we had a ball sketching there. So here you go... our pics from sketching at the ubiquitous West Lot:

An Almost Secret Garden Captivated Us Today

Several sketchers in our group love to garden and sketching in Carolyn's (almost) secret garden tucked in on a hillside is a true feast for the senses that we always enjoy.  Today her luscious roses were particular favorites as we head into Fall.
